How much is the scanner? what kind of resolution can it shoot? I was always considering going that route... but never thought it would be a good option since I thought the quality would be crap and it would be not worth it to actually scan... what can u actually print?
Hey jess. My scanner has a resolution of 2900ppi which is huge! New ones today equal to mine (I got mine used) are now 4400ppi but if you're printing at 8x10 size, you won't even notice the difference.
It does slides, negs and bw negatives. Now I have a real reason to shoot with slide film. The scanner was a few hundred dollars used. New, it cost around $1000 so getting a used one is a good. I have a nikon coolscan IV. If I had the choice, I'd love to get a minolta dimage 5400 but it's too expensive for me.

Rob that is great! Your job sounds good. I want a new printer, new digicam, new car, new cell phone, etc. too! :) God is good!
The last comment was from Denise btw. Hello Rob!
Hey Rob... what kind of digicam did you get?
Hey Jess, I actually got a film scanner. I shot these on Tmax 400 and developed them myself then scanned them.
I did get a digital camera from work. It's a 4.0MP Kodak LS743. It's actually a surprisingly good camera even though it's dummy-proof...haha
If you wanna bring some negatives over this holiday, you're welcome to scan some in, the scanner is great!
